UFC.

So I'm sat watching UFC right now, and something popped into my head.

I'd be an awful UFC fighter.

As soon as one guy's punch connected with the other guy's nose, blood rushed everywhere. Instead of continuing to punch, I'd be like *jumps back* "Shit, sorry man!"

Plus I wouldn't like touching the other person's blood. I dunno, it just creeps me out.

Still enjoy watching it though :)

AWOL.

Sorry for the lack of updates, haven't really been able to get a spare moment recently.

Our bathroom sprung a leak a few nights ago, coming in through the ceiling. Something had burst on the water tank in the loft, soaking all the insulation and then dripped down through the ceiling into the bathroom.

I am thanking the lord that we decided to bring down all of our CE boxes a few months ago, or else there could have been disaster.

A few new things been announced in the collecting world, such as:

- A massive amount of Steelbooks from Zavvi.
- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD LE Wii U Console.
- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Limited Edition.

Definitely getting both Wind Waker items. Luckily we don't have to do too much to fit them in our budget, as Allan had already intended to buy me a Wii U for my 21st birthday, back in July. I had a feeling that a Zelda themed one would be released alongside Wind Waker HD, so we held onto the money. Luckily, we'd budgeted £300 for a Wii U back then, so because the LE Wii U is only £250, that means we only need to come up with another tenner to afford the Limited Edition of the game, too!

On the Zavvi note, we can't take it anymore. They are releasing their Steelbooks in a ridiculously short period of time, often with many releases falling on the same date. As a friend pointed out:

73 Steelbooks to come, between now and the end of December. I know Zavvi isn't to blame for all of them, but they certainly are the worst culprits.

So unfortunately, as with statues, we are now not only just cutting back on Steelbook releases, we are practically eradicating them from our preorder list. We don't want to, of course, but with the rate that Zavvi is pumping them out, and at least £15 a pop, with some titles over £20(!), we simply cannot afford to continue. I know that many other collectors are feeling this burn right now, too.

If only Zavvi would realise this, and space out their release schedule, that way we wouldn't be practically giving up, so they'd still get our money. But no, instead they will lose a lot of business as collectors are just tuning out now. We can't afford these onslaughts of Steelbooks, in such quick succession.

Limited to 4 per month (or 1 per week, however you want to look at it), it would be far more manageable. I know I've said that before, but the more we ALL say it, the more Zavvi is likely to actually listen.

Until then though, my Steelbook collection won't be getting much added to it.

What do you think about the speed of Zavvi's releases? Are you struggling to keep up?

Entries to the Asylum - Thursday 22nd August 2013!

I know, I know. I'm getting bad at doing these on the date the stuff actually arrives! Anyway, a couple of things were added to the Asylum yesterday (technically they arrived on Tuesday, but they went to my mum's so I didn't get them till last night).

- Saints Row IV Emperor Zinyak's Game of the Generation Edition.
- S.H. Figuarts Piccolo SDCC Special Color Variant.
- Dragon Ball Z 3 Pack Figures (SSJ Goku, SSJ Vegeta and SSJ God Goku) SDCC Exclusive.

Both Dragon Ball Z related items were exclusive to San Diego Comic Con, and Allan was gutted that he was going to miss out on them, so I cancelled one of my lesser-wanted preorders and bought them from BigBadToyStore :) Needless to say, he was over the moon last night when I handed them to him :)

The Saints Row IV CE is absolutely massive. Limited to 5000 and individually numbered (!), we knew we had to have it. It cost $119.99 plus shipping, taking it to a pretty good price of $139.98 (shipping to UK for the package would have worked out WAY higher than $19.99 if I got someone to forward it to me!). That worked out to be £93.29, which is pretty good, but unfortunately since it came from Gamestop (and don't worry, I prepared for this in advance), I received customs charges of £30.50. Still worked out cheaper than it being forwarded though, mind.

The package from BigBadToyStore managed to escape customs-charge-free! Yay :D

Fable Legends!

Lionhead have just announced Fable Legends, a new game for Xbox One, at Gamescom. Whilst it isn't Fable 4, it is a proper game in the series (and not a spin-off Kinect title, etc).

Set 400 years before the events of the first Fable, you will take the role of one of a number of different heroes, and you have your friends taking the places of three others.

Very, very excited about this!

Are you looking forward to Fable Legends?

Entries to the Asylum - Monday 19th August 2013.

Forgot to post this yesterday, but had one entry to the Asylum :) Had to collect it from the delivery office as I had to pay Customs Charges (grr!), so it's probably quite safe to say that it is the single most expensive Steelbook that we, in the Asylum, have ever purchased!

- Dragon Ball Z Broly Triple Feature Steelbook.

Allan wanted it, as he's been meaning to get it for ages, but Vic Mignogna - who voices Broly - is going to Scotland Comic Con next month, so that gave him the kick up the bum to finally buy it. However he was a little gutted as it was a lot cheaper last time he nearly bought it...

It cost us £40.66 including shipping, and then £13.85 in Customs Charges. So £54.51 in total...

I think other than this one, the maximum we've spent on a single Steelbook has been approx. £30 or so.

Ah well, Allan is happy with it :)

Quick non-game related delivery today (20th August), two T-Shirts that I bought in the InsaniTEE sale on Qwertee a few days ago.You don't get to choose the T-Shirt you want, you just order 1 or 2, and choose the correct size, and you receive a random shirt :)

I bought two as a surprise for Allan, as he wanted to do it, but had already spent too much on Qwertee lately. He doesn't know yet, as I didn't want to tell him incase the two T-Shirts that arrived weren't ones he'd like (so I'd need to take time trying to swap them on the Qwertee swap page) but luckily both of them are great.

Would have been better if they were Dragon Ball Z, or Zelda related, but they're cool nevertheless. Plus, they're both ones that we'd have liked, but not liked enough to buy (I don't mean that in a horrible way, I just mean that because we hold off on lots of ones we really like as we can't afford to buy a T-Shirt from Qwertee every single day!)

Can't wait for Allan to get home so he can see them :D

Have you received anything recently?

One entry into the Asylum today, thanks to Ingmar over at CE.org :)

Definitely need to get some photos up soon, as this is a truly magnificent piece :)

Has anything dropped through your letterbox today?

EDIT: One other entry to the Asylum today, it came later than the first, hence why I didn't mention it :)

- Mad Max Trilogy Blu-Ray Petrol Can, a bargain from Amazon UK for just £22.12 delivered!

Will go great on the shelf next to the Amazon US version (which came in a silver tin).

Pics up soon :)

Entries to the Asylum - Monday 12th August 2013.

Couple of entries to the Asylum from yesterday that I forgot to post :), all of which are Zavvi exclusive Steelbooks :)

- Evil Dead (Reboot).
- Evil Dead 2.
- Rambo: First Blood.
- The Place Beyond the Pines.

Unfortunately, Rambo has a small scratch down the front of it, which was only noticeable once the cellophane was taken off, so I am currently awaiting a reply from Zavvi about if I can receive a replacement or not.

Have you received any goodies lately?
Let me know in the comments below!

Entries to the Asylum - Saturday 10th August 2013.

A few entries to the Asylum from Saturday just past, that I forgot to update on here :)

- NECA Friday the 13th Jason Figure (SDCC 2013 Exclusive).

- Ubiworkshop Journal and ACIV Pin.
Thanks to Lily for helping me out with these.

- Tales of Xillia Milla Maxwell Collector's Edition.

Pictures will be uploaded eventually :P
Lots of stuff moving around in the Asylum right now.

Entries to the Asylum - 9th August 2013!

Two entries into the Asylum today :)
The Jungle Book Steelbook and Homefront Resist Edition Steelbook.

The Jungle Book Steelbook is exclusive to Zavvi in the UK at the price of £22.99.
Link can be found here, but unfortunately it has already sold out.

The Homefront Resist Edition Steelbook is one I've kept coming back to for months, as I always see it around for £10 or less, but I've never gone for it before now. But I was buying a can of spray paint from Amazon this week, and as you may now know, Amazon now charges you for delivery on orders less than £10 - UNLESS a movie, game or book is included in the order.

So as the postage that Amazon wanted for the spray paint was £6 odds, I went on the hunt for something cheap to get me free shipping. And for £3.54, I found the Homefront Steelbook :)

Extremely looking forward to any other Disney Steelbooks that Zavvi brings out, as they are certainly beautiful!

Have you had any recent deliveries?

Rayman Legends exclusive Mario & Luigi Costumes!

Today, Ubisoft announced that Nintendo’s popular video game heroes Mario and Luigi will make their debut appearance in Rayman Legends, the highly anticipated platformer developed by Ubisoft Montpellier. Exclusively available in the version for Nintendo’s Wii U system, players will be able to unlock skins for Rayman as Mario and Globox as Luigi after 20 minutes of gameplay.

Rayman Legends will be released in the UK on August 30th 2013 for Nintendo Wii U, Microsoft Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Sony PlayStation Vita and Microsoft Windows PC.

It seems that every week there's a new thing revealed for Rayman Legends that makes it more and more exciting for me! And also to make it harder for me to decide which platform to get it for.

Will you be getting Rayman Legends?

Batman: Arkham Origins Collector's Edition!

WB Games UK have just this second announced on Twitter that a Collector's Edition for Arkham Origins has been revealed, and will go up on Amazon UK for preorder very soon!

Somehow, they didn't include any images alongside this "announcement", but if the rumours from a few weeks ago are anything to go by, this is what the CE will look like, and will contain:

Exclusive Arkham Origins statue featuring Batman and The Joker, measuring approx:
- Height: 30cm.
- Depth: 13.5cm.
- Width: 13cm.

An 80-page full colour hardcover artbook.

Assassin's Intel Dossier, including files on the eight assassin's, as well as Black Mask's contract.

1st Appearance Batman skin DLC.

Deathstroke Challenge Pack DLC - Usable throughout all of the Arkham Origins Challenge maps and also includes 2 bonus challenge maps and 2 bonus Deathstroke skins.

Exclusive 3D Metalpak.

and the PS3 version will also include the Knightfall pack as an exclusive piece of content (boo!)

It will retail for £79.99 in the UK, and is available in "Limited Quantities" so it may be best for you to get a preorder in ASAP. Release date is 25th October this year!

Will you be getting this?
Let me know in the comments below!

EDIT: Preorders are now live, but £20 more expensive than the stated RRP... they can be found here for Xbox 360 and here for PS3.

T-Shirts!

Recently, both myself and Allan have developed a bit of an addiction to game/movie related clothing. It started when our friend Lauren tagged us in a T-Shirt that she'd spotted on Qwertee, that she knew Allan would like:

So, straight away, he bought it.

A day or two later, a T-Shirt that I knew Allan would love popped up on TeeFury:

However I bought it in red for him (it is absolutely gorgeous in red!). That's two t-shirts already...

A couple of days pass, and we think to ourselves "I hope no more really awesome T-Shirts go up soon, as we're low on money. Hopefully they choose stuff we don't really like..."

Well, a few more days pass, and this goes up on Qwertee:

Earthworm Jim crossed with Ash from The Evil Dead. Allan couldn't pass it up. Third to the collection now.

The next day, also on Qwertee, this appears:

Allan wanted it because it's Pokémon crossed with TMNT. And I wanted it for the same reason. He said he would probably have to pass though as he'd just bought the "Groovy!" T-Shirt the day before. I sulked for a bit, and somehow my finger "slipped" and it was ours...

Then InsertCoinClothing announce that they're doing a 3 for 2 deal on their T-Shirts, and for one lucky person who places an order that day, they might receive a game in with their purchase.
I still had a £5 voucher for InsertCoin left over from the goodies that Scruff got me last year when he went to Eurogamer, so once I'd dug that out, I snapped up another couple of T-Shirts - this time ladies' ones, and in my size (as all the previous purchases had been men's Tees in Allan's size, so he could wear them, but I could wear them too (but they'd be boy-fit on me).

These three are now on their way to me - they've actually already been delivered, but to my parents' house, so my Mum is dropping them off tonight after work - so I am very excited to receive them.

Cost me a grand total of £9.50 delivered for the three InsertCoin Tees, after the 3 for 2 discount and my £5 voucher was applied, so very happy indeed :)

It feels nice to be buying clothes again, as I haven't gotten any new clothes in so long, as I'm so addicted to collecting games and movies. I plan on buying tonnes more clothes at some point soon, if I have cash to spare. But for now, that is all I can afford, we've exhausted our budgets with these T-Shirts haha, and there's one more that has gone up today on Qwertee, that we really, really want, but hesitant about getting due to our lack of funds. Allan might end up jumping on it anyway (but the other bad thing is, we think an InsaniTee sale is going up on Qwertee tomorrow!).

Why can't we be rich!?

Oh how I want you, lovely Triforce T-Shirt!

Have any of you got addictions to T-Shirts relating to the things you love? Or just clothes in general?
Where do you like to get yours?

Devil's Kiss Vigor Bottle!

A Devil's Kiss Vigor Bottle from Bioshock Infinite has just been put up on the Irrational Store. Link can be found here: *mwah*

If it's anything like the Murder of Crows one, it will be sold out in no time. People are already attempting to sell them on eBay for at least double the price! It's actually a very attractive piece, however I do still prefer the Murder of Crows one (even though I've yet to add it to the collection, boo!), which also goes for insane prices on eBay (so I doubt I'll manage to get one anytime soon unless someone gives me a nice price *hint hint*).

Limited to 500, this one has a larger run than the MOC Vigor, but is a bit cheaper at $350. There is also a smaller run of signed ones (also within the 500), limited to 50. However, just for having Ken Levine's autograph (which let's be honest, it's on basically everything in that store nowadays!), it bumps up the price to $600, which is an absolutely ridiculous price hike. They are available >>here<<.

I'd honestly love to own one of the signed ones, since they're rarer, and come with a certificate of authenticity (which for some reason, the non signed ones don't seem to include), however I am nowhere near being able to just drop $600, plus shipping, plus the inevitable customs charges on the package, now, or even anytime soon (plus it'll no doubt sell out soon).

My only saving grace is that the signed one is pretty unnatractive, due to the location of the signature. It would have been far better to have the signature on the underside of the base, just as the Murder of Crows ones were.

If Ken Levine wants to be an absolute charmer and donate one to me though, I totally wouldn't refuse ;)

Are you getting one of these? If so, which version, and why?

Collection :)

Going to do a collection overview video tomorrow :)
I will do a video going over each part of our collection - nothing too in depth - to show you all the collection, how it's laid out, and just how crowded our house really is!

Planned on doing this a few days ago, but my camera battery was out of charge, so unfortunately I had to postpone. I'm really looking forward to getting it done however, as it will be good to have a look throughout the collection for myself whilst I'm filming, as I like to refresh my memory of what we own every now and then :)

If there's anything in the collection that you'd like me to focus on for a little longer than the rest (however I won't be unboxing - I just mean talk about it a little bit) then let me know in the comments :) I will do an unboxing or two soon as well, however I am in the process of bleaching my hair so I will be behind the camera this time (since no doubt my hair will be patchy and ginger as hell!)

Let me know which items you'd like me to talk a little bit about during my collection overview video, and also what items you'd like to see an unboxing/review of in the near future :)

Check back tomorrow for the video!

Elder Scrolls Anthology Announced for PC!

Today at QuakeCon, Bethesda announced that an Elder Scrolls Anthology will be coming to PC this September, containing all of the Elder Scrolls games in one package, for a brilliant price of $79.99! I think it will also get a UK/EU release too, but I'll confirm that later, price in the UK should be £49.99 :)

It will include the following:

The Elder Scrolls Arena
The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
The Elder Scrolls III DLC: Tribunal.
The Elder Scrolls III DLC: Bloodmoon.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
The Elder Scrolls IV DLC: Knights of the Nine.
The Elder Scrolls IV DLC: Shivering Isles.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
The Elder Scrolls V DLC: Dawnguard.
The Elder Scrolls V DLC: Hearthfire.
The Elder Scrolls V DLC: Dragonborn.

It will also include five maps, one for each of the lands - Tamriel, Iliac Bay, Morrowind, Cyrodiil and Skyrim.

I am super excited for this release, as ashamedly I have never played any of the Elder Scrolls games other than Skyrim (and a five minute attempt on Oblivion). Plus, we don't actually own the older ones due to the fact that we are mainly console gamers, but since getting my laptop, I have been wanting to build up a small PC game collection so I can use my laptop to it's full potential (I say a small PC collection... I already have 60+ games on my Steam account).

The Elder Scrolls Anthology will release on September 10th in the US, and September 13th in the UK.

Are you looking forward to this release?
Let me know in the comments below!

EDIT: This is now available in the UK from Shopto.net for the fantastic price of £39.85! Link can be found here.

Tomb Raider Sequel in the works!

Square Enix confirmed today that a sequel to this year's Tomb Raider is "well into development", and that it will be a next-gen game.

Being massive fans of the rebooted Tomb Raider, this is fantastic news for us, and we're so very excited for it to be described as being "well into development", meaning it might not be too far away after the launch of next-gen.

My only complaint about Tomb Raider was that it was too short. I was left wanting more as soon as the game had ended, and it ended pretty damn fast. So I sincerely hope that the sequel will be a far longer game. If it is, then I will be a happy bunny, indeed!

Are you excited about the news of a next-gen sequel?

Drawing!

As I mentioned previously (in another post), myself and Allan have been getting back into drawing recently.

Allan has been desperate for Copic Markers for well over 6 months now, but due to the price of them (he wants every colour!), we've never gotten round to getting any. He not only wants every colour, but he wants every type, too - they come in a few variations, such as Sketch, Ciao, Wide, etc. - so that could prove extremely costly (as the multi-packs are over £100 each!)

As a little treat, last week I purchased a small set for him. It was only £11.99 off of eBay, as it only contains like 6 pens, but it means he can try them out and get used to using them. It was just a grey-scale pack that I bought, since he can try them out no matter what he draws, whereas the manga colour packs (which are also available for £11.99) would have restricted him to what he can draw, since they are specific colours.

The pens arrived this morning just before he went out to work, so he has yet to try them out yet, but as soon as he has (and me, after), I'll get a little "first thoughts" review up about them :)

I've read so many good things about them, and seen first-hand artists using them and creating magnificent pieces, but until I use them myself, I still feel a little "eh?" about them, in case they don't live up to my expectations. So I am really hoping that when they get tested out tonight, they will exceed my expectations!

Check back later for our first thoughts!

Asylum Reviews; A Quiet Place.

We’ve always been big fans of John Krasinski. Loved him in The Office, and were very glad when he started to break out from the comedi...
