Entries to the Asylum - 27th December 2015.

So another day, another entry to the Asylum. My mum misplaced one of the presents for us (a lanyard, so small enough to easily lose track of) and in her search for it, discovered a bundle of things tucked deep within the cupboard that she'd forgotten to wrap and give to us. So here is what there was:

- Nendoroid Attack on Titan Eren Yaeger.
- Nendoroid Attack on Titan Mikasa Ackerman.
- Nendoroid Attack on Titan Armin Arlert.
- Nendoroid Attack on Titan Levi.
- Monster Hunter 3 E-Capcom Limited Edition.
- Tomb Raider Limited Edition Xbox 360 Controller.
- Halo 4 UNSC Limited Edition Xbox 360 Controller.
- Gears of War 3 Limited Edition Xbox 360 Controller.

So today is gonna be spent tidying up the place (as "a riot" is putting things nicely), and then when Allan is off to football, I think I might rearrange the collection room a bit... try and get more things out and on display. And try to make more space for everything too (ie: display the main parts of the editions, and put the boxes away in the cupboards).

I forgot to write on my last post (just incase anybody was confused by it) that as you could see, the wee man got Disney Infinity 2.0 stuff for both PS4 and PS3. Even though he has an Xbox One. This was purely because the figures work over all platforms, and the CE is only available for Playstation, and the toyboy pack on PS3 was cheaper than buying the Merida and Stitch figures (which it includes) separately :) Sorta same thing with Skylanders Superchargers - I thought he'd be able to use Donkey Kong on his Xbox One copy, but my brain failed me and I didn't realise that the Nintendo Skylanders are only for use on Nintendo consoles (common sense should have told me that). However, we do have a Wii U anyway so it means he can play it on both :)

Anyway, so I will get some pics up today, most likely just basic pics of everything, nothing too in-depth, as it will just be a case of taking pictures in between rearranging the collection, and tidying. But if there's anything in particular that you'd really like to see, you know what to do...

Let me know in the comments below!

It's Chriiiiiiiiistmaaaaaas!

Yesterday was the 25th of December. Christmas Day. And we were spoiled rotten.

I can't believe how much stuff we've gotten this year - well, I can, it's sitting right in front of me - but holy crap, there is a lot. So much in fact, that the stuff from my parents, my mum split and gave us half to open at ours on Christmas morning, as my dad would've freaked had he seen it all.

She likes to try and get stuff all throughout the year so as when December rolls around, she's basically done. However this year, she did not keep track of what has been bought at all (neither did I), which then resulted in her getting the shock of her life when she brought it out the various cupboards.

And to which also resulted in a "this is not happening next year" to me, haha. Not that I was expecting it at all, anyway.

Sooo, this post will serve as our latest "Entries to the Asylum" post, however there are a couple of things that have been received over the past few weeks, so some dates are a little fuzzy, to say the least! (Also, some things may be missing, if so, I will add them in as and when I remember, lol)

aaaand! I got my Secret Santa gift from over at CE.org!  It is the Rise of the Tomb Raider steelcase (w/ envelope) and replica of Lara's necklace in a little pouch, from the Rise of the Tomb Raider CE. I definitely need to pick up that CE at some point as unfortunately I didn't have the funds on release and didn't get it, but having two pieces of it just makes me want it more!

I absolutely love it, and my Secret Santa certainly knows me well to get me something from Tomb Raider as I enjoyed the game so much! So thank you to my SS! :D

I'd also really like to thank everyone that has helped me acquire everything above over the last however many months, it was brutal receiving them only for them to be put away into hiding for so long until Christmas, but it's worth it to now finally have them in the Asylum!

I will post pics of all of the above very soon, and if there's anything in particular you guys would like to see me unbox, then feel free to let me know in the comments below!

Entries to the Asylum - 8/12/15-10/12/15.

Hey guys!
Sorry, we've been totally ill with the flu lately. Actually got a few videos recorded for you but they were actually ruined due to my almost non-existent voice, and shaky cam due to constant coughing. So, as usual, something has gotten in the way. So, again, I'm really sorry. We were all starting to get better, the boom. Ill again.

Anyway, we are still in the middle of decorating, too. The house will finally be done (minus two of our cupboards: the "stable" and the "cubby hole") on Tuesday, as that is when we are due to have our hallway carpets fitted, and flooring fitted in the kitchen too, so we are going to have to finish painting before then, so we will be caught up with that over the next couple of days.

But, on Saturday we are having people over for the Jose Aldo v Conor McGregor fight, so I am aiming to get a few videos done during the day then, before people arrive.

Okay, so I'm rambling now. The point of this post was to tell you what new entries we've had in the Asylum over the last couple of days.

First of all, we had a steelbook arrive last week at some point. Sadly I cannot remember when:

Sometime Last Week - oops...

- Iron Man Zavvi Exclusive Lenticular Edition Steelbook [Bluray].

That can be found here.

Tuesday 8th December 2015.

- Kill La Kill Part 1/3 Collectors Edition [Bluray].
- Blood Lad Collectors Edition [Bluray].

These can be found here and here, respectively. Great prices for them too, although we did order Deadman Wonderland Complete Series along with them, but that has yet to materialize.

Wednesday 9th December 2015.

- Fallout 4 EBGames Exclusive Nuke Pack [Xbox One].
- Mad Max Post-Apocalyptic Edition [Xbox One].

Both of these editions came from EBGames in Australia, assisted by a great member over at CE.org, Dreamcazman (woo!). It was due to be delivered on Tuesday, however instead of attempting delivery, Parcelforce instead just left it at the PO and updated tracking to say "Addressee unavailable, notified..." despite them never coming to our door or leaving a collection slip. Grr,

So what things have you guys received recently?

Limited Edition Pikachu Build-a-Bear Now Set to Release This Month! PIKA!

It has been revealed that the previously announced Limited Edition Pikachu plush from Build-a-Bear Workshop, that was due to drop in 2016 has been brought forward to be released later this month!

I honestly don't care what anyone thinks, I am super excited about this.

I mean, look at this adorable little bastard!

He's 15in tall, and comes with an exclusive Trading Card, and a Pokéball hoodie. And if you preorder him online (which sadly, it now looks like they're sold out online!), he also comes with a 6in1 Pikachu voice box, and a Charizard hoodie!

How freaking cute is that!?

So being the huuuuge Pokémon fan that I am, as soon as I found out, I preordered him. Well, my first instinct was "aw maaan" because I expected that it was only US stores that had him, but no, UK got him too! And then my second instinct was "waaaahh" because I cannot afford to drop £45 + shipping on him right now, but luckily payment is to be taken on dispatch, so yaaaaaaay!

So, um yeah. He's mine.

Did any of you guys preorder one before they disappeared?

Down with the Sickness PLUS Entries to the Asylum - 23rd-28th November 2015.

Hi guys! Really sorry for the lack of updates here the past few days. Have been terribly ill, not just me, but the entire house. It was our son's 5th birthday last Sunday and he had the time of his life.

He was spoiled rotten - a bit too much for his age - as we got him an Xbox One for his birthday. But he's been doing really well in school and he really, really wanted one (although within an hour of us setting it up, he asked where his 360 went *facepalm* ). We also got him a variety of games such as Minecraft, Terraria and Disney Infinity. Unsurprisingly though, he's still totally addicted to "the bike game" Trials Fusion, which he originally could only play in our livingroom as he could only play on our Xbox One.

Our entries to the Asylum this past week have all been tainted by the evil mistress that is HMRC, too. With customs charges being laid upon them.

Monday 23rd November 2015.

- Fallout 4 Limited Edition Vault Boy PDP Xbox One Controller.

This is a beauty, it really is. Cost approx £45 from Gamestop, if I remember correctly. Then another whopping £25 in customs charges. It's a lovely controller, but £70 is a bit hard to stomach for it. It is numbered however, with only 5040 of them in existence, so it's probably worth it!

Saturday 28th November 2015.

- S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball Z Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Son Goku Figure.
- S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball Z Golden Frieza Figure.
- S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Son Gohan Figure.
- Figma Attack on Titan Eren Yaeger Figure.
- Dragon Ball Z Resurrection "F" Limited Edition Bluray [Japan].

Again, also had to pay customs on the above. Seems like customs are being especially stringent just now, as nothing seems to be getting through.

Also have a package to pick up from the delivery office from Aus, containing myself and fellow CE.org forum member Cosmic's recent Aussie preorders: Mad Max and Fallout 4 Editions from EB Games.

That package is at a different delivery office (which I cannot get to) however, so I will be arranging for that to be redelivered sometime this week.

And JUST CAUSE 3 is out TOMORROW.

GAME messed up our preorder for the CE - no surprise there - and have just replaced the order, and then informed me that due to Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, it'll be 5-10 working days before I get it. Beyond livid, as we had really wanted to play and review this tomorrow. And possibly get a Live Stream up since that's our voices now returning to normal after being so ill, but no. Unless by some way of a miracle, we get our copy, we will have to wait :(

So what have you guys received recently?

Entries to the Asylum - Thursday 19th November 2015.

A day late to post this, so my apologies, but yesterday's entries to the Asylum were as follows:

- Star Wars Battlefront w/ Pre-Order Bonus Steelbook [Xbox One].
- Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash Promo Sweatband.
- Super Mario Bros. 30th Anniversary Pin.

Loving the look of Battlefront so far, although I haven't played it yet - I wanted to play a bit more of Fallout 4 before I move onto something else - but I'm really enjoying watching Allan play it. Feel like I may have a shot of it tonight though, as even though I don't want to ditch Fallout 4 completely, something with a little change of pace is good.

Entries to the Asylum - Friday 13th - Sunday 15th November 2015.

Two entries to the Asylum for Friday the 13th:

- Fallout 4 Limited Edition Beers.
- Mortal Kombat X Kollector's Edition [Xbox One].

Now I know what you're thinking. "But you posted about the beers on Tuesday the 10th?", and yes, I did. This is a second batch, haha.

The first batch we got were missing the cardboard holder-y things that 4 packs of beer typically come in. The listing is for 12 beers, but it should have arrived as 3x 4-packs, according to other customers' reviews. I complained, thus we ended up with a replacement set, which low and behold were also missing the holders. So if anyone wants to be an absolute babe and send me even just one 4-pack with a holder, I'd be eternally grateful.

The Mortal Kombat X edition was a bargain on Amazon. It has since gone back up to it's full price of near enough £60, but it dropped down for a small portion of the day on Wednesday, so we snapped two up (one for a friend's birthday gift).

Saturday the 14th saw a couple of things too:

- Fallout 4 Limited Edition Accessory Bundle.
- Fallout 4 "Charisma" Bobblehead.

The Charisma bobblehead is now our third of the exact same bobblehead. We're not entirely sure why GAME keeps sending us them, but that's three that we now own. Guessing that should be the last of them, as they were given out as a free gift for joining the Fallout 4 Vault Club (by putting down a deposit on your preorder of Fallout 4), but we only preordered one copy, and somehow we've ended up with three bobbleheads...

And the "Accessory Bundle" was something Tesco were selling on their website here, which contains a t-shirt (size L), a bottle opener and a 7" Vault Boy bobblehead (so bigger than the free one from GAME), packaged inside a "commemorative box". It's blue and yellow and has Vault Boy on it, that's all you really need to know about the box. Managed to get it for £12.50, but it has since gone up to £25. In all honesty, I wouldn't have spent £25 on it, but that may just be because I'm a cheapskate, but for £12.50 I couldn't complain.

And lastly, today saw one entry to the Asylum (I know, it's Sunday, but it went to my parents' house and they just brought it to me today):

- Mad Max Fury Road Mondo Artwork.

This absolutely stunning piece of art (which is even more amazing in real life!) was purchased as a gift for Allan, from me. He is a massive Mad Max fan, of both the original three, and Fury Road and I knew he'd love this. As soon as I saw it, I knew he had to have it, so I ordered it, and as I expected - he adores it.

So now we need to get yet another frame to get this up on the wall ASAP.

Heck, we still haven't bought frames for everything else we need framed, so we'll need to try and get that sorted soon. Just so frustrating how much frames cost, especially when you need like a million of them.

Anyway, have you received anything cool this weekend?

Asylum Reviews: Rise of the Tomb Raider [Xbox One].

For over a week now, I've been paying Rise of the Tomb Raider every chance I get. It's very similar to the first in terms of gameplay and feel. And that's not a bad thing.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

As of this morning, I'm around halfway through the game. It is exciting and fun, and having been a huge fan of the 2013 reboot, it's very familiar, so getting used to controls was never a problem. I could dive right in with very little getting to grips with things. It's definitely a game I'm really enjoying, and I'm happy to see how the story pans out.

Rise of the Tomb Raider sees Lara embark on a new adventure, to seek out what her father had been searching for before his death. In the icy setting of Siberia, we have her up against Trinity, battling against them as they race to find the "Divine Source", a extraordinary artifact that could be the answer to eternal life, which she has inadvertently led them straight to. We have new weapons and gear, the ability to change Lara's costume and you can also fulfill tasks for the local people that you will come across.

The new gear, whilst easy to use and fantastic to play with, sometimes becomes slightly confusing as you try to rush through a tight spot and can't remember which of your expanded arsenal is correct. Is it the wire spool, which in effect turns your climbing axe into a grappling hook, or is it your bow to shoot a strong rope to swing across to the other side? Oh no wait, we used the wrong one and now we've plunged to our deaths. Aaand reload.

The game does keep you gripped and make you want to journey on. Though there's not much in terms of "groundbreaking change" between this game and the last, it's definitely not something I'd fault it for. The formula works, so why change it?

Obviously, at this point I'm yet to have 100% completed the game, even though I've been playing it a lot over the past week. I definitely like that it's longer than the previous one, as that was my one gripe that I had with it back in 2013. But I can honestly say that there's nothing big enough to really make me say anything bad about this game.

The story is great (despite being quite a common theme), the gameplay is fun, the combat is fantastic - although melee is sometimes a tad off, in my opinion - the graphics are beautiful and I just loved it.

The only thing that we did initially think was bad (until we realised it was a glitch) was the lack of aiming with your gun. From the beginning of a certain location in the game, and lasting for around 10 minutes or so (as we ran around this tiny spot confused on what to do), we had no reticule when aiming our gun (nor any HUD for our ammo in the top corner), and we lost the ability to pause, the ability to use survival instinct, and no info would come up when we picked up a collectible. This really frustrated us, as we hadn't yet used the gun before then, so weren't sure if this is just how it was, until maybe you unlocked the reticule via your upgrades at camp, but the lack of pause was infuriating, especially when you're wanting to check your progress.

Luckily - or not so luckily, for Lara - Lara died when we couldn't aim properly to shoot a falling spiky block that was rushing towards us. And the checkpoint reloaded and woohoo, we finally had a reticule, thus realising that this was in fact a glitch and not some evil-doing of the development team.

Allan started his own save and played past this part, not being affected by the glitch at all, so I'm glad to see it's not an outright bug affecting that portion of the game, but simply just something I'd randomly stumbled upon in my own playthrough.

Overall, I'd definitely say that Rise of the Tomb Raider is worth purchasing, especially if you were a fan of the previous game. It's fun, it's interesting and it's definitely worth the time spent playing it. I just hope that continues on right until the end. It also looks outstanding and I'm really happy to have the game, as it's sure to be one that I play through to completion.

I do think that releasing in the same week as Fallout 4 (same day for those of you in the US) however, was a big risk. I feel that all of the hype of Fallout 4 will have severely detracted from the hype surrounding this game, and thus the sales, and I hope that it doesn't hurt it too badly in the long run.

So, are you picking up Rise of the Tomb Raider when it's released tomorrow? Or are you so lost in Fallout 4 that you won't be buying another game till New Year?

Entries to the Asylum - Tuesday 10th November 2015.

Today is Fallout 4 day!

And, funnily enough, we've received a few Fallout related entries to the Asylum today:

- Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition [Xbox One].
- Fallout 4 Limited Edition Beers.
- Limited Edition Fallout 4 Loot Crate.

Was getting worried that the Pip-Boy Edition wasn't gonna turn up on release day after the whole GAME fiasco, as I mentioned in a previous post, but luckily it arrived! It came at around 4pm, so quite late on in the day, but better late than never :)

Also, we got the Limited Edition beers, released by Carlsberg to celebrate the launch of Fallout 4. I'll go into a little more detail soon about them, but all I'll say right now is that they're pretty disappointing.

And lastly, the Fallout 4 Loot Crate! Again, we'll go over this in a bit more detail in the coming days, but this isn't as great as I was hoping. Realistically, it is worth the money. It retailed at $100 (plus $30 shipping outside of the US), which converted to approx £88. And in it, you get a selection of goodies that I'd say at least work out to that value. The only disappointing thing about it is that the types of goodies that you get in it aren't the most exciting. I don't really know what else we were expecting, but other than the hoodie (which is available for purchase separately), and the Dogmeat plush, both of which we knew about beforehand, the rest, whilst still nice, isn't anything out-of-this-world extraordinary.

But anyway, we'll go over that in a few days when we properly unbox all of the above :D

So, did you get any Fallout goodies today?

Fallout 4 Shambles.

As most of you will know, the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition is one of, if not the most, highly coveted CEs of 2015. Here in the UK, it was a GAME exclusive. Pretty standard practise, as they do tend to get the monopoly of the "better" editions.

Only, it also tends to be these "exclusive" editions that start an all out war with consumers up against GAME, and will no doubt lead to their downfall.

Back in 2011, we had the infamous case of Uncharted 3 Explorer Editions being cancelled, due to them overselling. As well as Resistance 3 Survivor Edition, which was their sister company, Gamestation.

Now it is four days till Fallout 4's release, and GAME have done it again. We are getting reports of hundreds of orders having been cancelled for the Pip-Boy Edition, for seemingly no reason. Claims that they couldn't take the payments as Paypal and various banks would not release the funds (however many customers have spoken to their payment authorities to be told that no such payment had even been attempted). So if it isn't a problem with payments, what is it?

My money is on them overselling the editions again.

Sadly, our preorder has been one of the many affected, and we are very unhappy about it. However there is a faint glimmer of light, as we have been told (after being on hold for 1 hour 40 minutes) that we will receive a callback to get our order replaced - something that others have been told is not possible. We arranged our callback with them back on Saturday last week, as I needed to change the delivery address from our old address to our new one. We still haven't received this callback despite it being nearly a week now, but have been told we're close to the top of the list now, so to expect our call "over the next few days".

We have had our t-shirt for being in the first 10,000 orders, and our Vault Boy bobblehead is waiting to be picked up from the sorting office, so I don't know if being in the first 10,000 is why we're (apparently) getting our order replaced or not, but fingers crossed the outcome ends up good for us.

And not at all surprisingly, in the current state of events, but our Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Juggernog Edition, which was due to come from GAME today is nowhere to be seen. Aaand we should have received a tracking number for it, as the order is over £100 (it's £179.99 *faints*), but nothing on that front either.

Have you been affected by the Fallout 4 cancellations? Are you awaiting your Juggernog Edition?

Entries to the Asylum - Thursday 5th November 2015.

Two entries to the Asylum today:

- Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F Collector's Edition [Bluray].
- Monty Python and the Holy Grail Limited Edition Castle Box Set [Bluray].

Two very inexpensive, but really nice looking editions, both from Amazon.com - links to purchase are here for DBZ, and here for Monty Python. At the time of writing this post, both are listed at a fantastic price of $35~ each.

The package I received also included two other small items, but those are stocking-filler-type gifts for Allan for Christmas, however I've got a feeling that he'll end up getting them early.

Waiting on quite a few things in the mail at the moment, so be sure to check back for more "Entries to the Asylum" posts, as well as a quick overview video of the collection, some unboxings/reviews and of course, our Early Access live-stream of Rise of the Tomb Raider!

EDIT: One other entry to the Asylum (had to collect from the Delivery Office):

- Destiny: The Taken King Collector's Edition [Xbox One].

Big thanks to our friend James, aka Cosmic_Link for helping us to get this edition. (And for carefully opening it up to give us the download code so we could play before he shipped it to us, haha).

So what have you guys received today?

Decorating.

When we moved into our new house back in May, there was a lot that needed to be done. The last people who lived here had really done a number on the place. Holes in the walls, everywhere. Nails sticking out of the walls, again everywhere. Some rather creepy locks on the outside of doors. And not to mention, the place was filthy.

Now, before we moved in, and we had just viewed the house, there was flooring down throughout. Carpet in both bedrooms and the hallway, tiles in the bathroom, and laminate in the livingroom and kitchen. We had requested that this would all be left down, as having just given birth to a baby we'd only known about for 6 weeks prior to her birth, and having just lost our previous house as the landlord decided to sell up, we had no means of paying for new carpets and such ourselves.

Only, whilst they were removing everything out of the house that had just been left behind, flooring was damaged, so they ripped it all out (bar the livingroom laminate, and the tiles in the bathroom). At first we were raging, as the flooring underneath was dirty cracked tiles and concrete. Not what you want around a 4 year old and a newborn. But when we moved in, we were semi-glad.

There were bugs everywhere.

We had to call pest control out, and get them to spray the entire house. Once that was sorted, we then got onto decorating. We thought we'd be decorating for a few weeks, and then we'd be done. How wrong were we? Six months on, and we're still not done. We're mostly done, to be fair. Our bedroom is complete. The kids' room is complete bar Eva's wall, but we couldn't decide what to do for that - however we finally decided last night, so that will be done shortly! The livingroom is complete, the bathroom too. All that still remain to be finished are the kitchen, and the hallway.

The kitchen's walls are mostly done, all they need is another coat of paint and they should be done. We do have a part-brick wall in the kitchen however, and this is still needing repainted, but really, it won't take long to do. We still need flooring for the kitchen, as we wanted to finish the walls first, as we'll then need to fill in the cracks in the floor and somehow level the floor, too, before we put down flooring. But once we do that, the kitchen will look great.

The hallway is a whole other story. We still need to finish painting the hall. It's mostly done, but it was done purely for quickness (and to stop it from looking so grubby), so the edges of the walls are needing painted still, right in where the wall meets either a corner or the skirting. Our hall runs over 3.5 floors, so it's a lot of wall to paint. We've used 4 big tubs of paint so far, and will probably need at least another two. And then once we've done that, we'll need to paint the skirting and the banisters, and then finally get flooring sorted out too. But as I said, our hallway runs over 3.5 floors, so carpet is gonna cost us a fortune.

We really want to have it all sorted in time for Christmas, but time is fast running out. We're also trying to get the house properly tidied, too. It seems like this house gets so much messier than the last house, but that's probably down to size increase.

So if you notice us missing any posts over the next few weeks, the decorating, as well as our son's birthday (which is in just over two weeks' time) will be what are distracting us.

But we promise! We are going to get lots of new stuff up for you anyway, bringing you new content as often as we can. For instance, we are going to be live-streaming Rise of the Tomb Raider for you all either tonight or tomorrow (depending on if we can get it done tonight or not). So we hope you'll all be looking forward to that!

Anyway, what have you guys all been up to?

Entries to the Asylum - Saturday 31st October 2015

It's Halloween guys! Sadly I've not received anything super spooky today, which would have been fitting, however I have received not one, not two, but three awesome things in the mail!

- Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition [Xbox One].
- Back to the Future: The Game 30th Anniversary Edition [Xbox One].
- Playstation 20th Anniversary Steelbook [PS].

Very happy with all three items and can't wait to get into the games (and Allan can't wait to splash that £20 voucher on the Playstation Store from the Steelbook!).

I am just about to do a quick video for you all, just showing off the room a little. I do apologise, it's not the neatest, and also, we have a cot in the room taking up a chunk of space so apologies for what you won't really be able to see due to that (mainly just a TV with the Halo 4 LE Console, LE Pikachu N64 and then my Bluray Steelbooks/small editions).

But anyway, check back soon for that!

- V x

PS: I have not long woke up as of recording the video, so I don't think I'll show my face, especially as I badly need to wash my hair and am currently sitting with my Pikachu hat on (from last month's Loot Crate) ha ha.

Entries to the Asylum - Friday 30th October 2015

Our entries to the Asylum for yesterday included something that was long-awaited (as it should've been here a while ago!)...

- Mad Max: Fury Road Limited Collector's Edition [Bluray].
- October's "TIME" Loot Crate.

And no, the "long-awaited" wasn't a pun on the "TIME" Loot Crate, haha. It was in reference to the Mad Max CE. This CE was released on the 5th October in the UK, from Zavvi, no less.

Sadly there were some issues with my order but I finally got it resolved. I did however enquire about changing my delivery address on the order, as I'd prefer if it came directly to myself, rather than my parent's address, only to be told that there is no way to change delivery address in the system, and that if I wanted to change the address, they could cancel my order and I could re-order the item.

Hell no.

Mad Max: Fury Road Limited Collector's Edition was £100 when I ordered it. Since then, it "sold out" then was relisted at the price of £139.99. So if I wanted to change the address, purely to save my mum from no doubt having to collect from a neighbour/sorting office (which she did), I'd have to pay the grand price of £39.99 for the privilege.

No thank you.

But, it's here now, and I'm really happy with it. I'll go into more detail in my actual unboxing of it, but I will say that the statue replica of Max's Interceptor is great quality as it is made out of polystone. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the edition being £100, but I certainly wouldn't have paid £139.99 for it. I don't know, maybe I would have, as we're big Mad Max fans, but knowing that it was £100 beforehand, I'd have certainly not wanted to pay the extra £40, but that's just natural I suppose :)

Anyway, unboxings of these two entries to the Asylum will be uploaded very soon, as we are looking to get a whole load of videos/reviews/etc up for you all during this weekend.

Aaaand, we've got something very special planned for you all, for the release of Fallout 4. So I can't wait for that. 10 days to go, eeeeek!

So what have you all received lately? Let us know in the comments below!

Entries to the Asylum - Wednesday 28th October 2015

One entry to the Asylum today, but it's a good one!

- Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition [Xbox One].

Very happy with this edition, and really looking forward to playing the game as we still haven't gotten round to playing the Pre-Sequel yet. Claptrap seems to be fairly sturdy (albeit a little lighter than expected), and have just downloaded the controller app ClaptrAPP to get him going.

Will post a full review very soon, once we've tried it all out, taken lots of pictures, videos and of course, had a wee shot of the game :)

What new things have you received/purchased today? Let us know in the comments below!

Grief.

It's a funny thing, grief. It can consume you entirely, leaving you an empty shell, or it could make you go off the deep end, overflowing you with pent up emotions, etc. Or it can land you anywhere in between. It really can fuck you up in a multitude of ways.

As you'll have read in one of my most recent posts, last week marked the one year anniversary of the death of my Granda, so naturally I've been feeling pretty low. He was the greatest. I've never met a friendlier guy - he'd go out for a quick nip to the shops, and he'd be gone for hours because he'd talk to every single person he'd bump into on the way there, whilst he was there, and then on the way back.

His (and my gran's) life revolved around my dog, Pal. They bought him for me when I was 8, but as my parents both worked, he had to stay at their house - due to my parents working, I was almost always at theirs, too, anyway. When Pal was put down in August last year, it broke them both. But whilst it hurt my Gran emotionally, it had also taken away my Granda's "purpose". I don't say that in a bad way, as though he was only there to walk the dog. Far from it. But my Granda lived for Pal. He'd get up super early to take Pal for a walk, something my Granda adored doing. He loved to get out the house for a bit, so he'd be out walking Pal a million times a day, and with Pal gone, his reason for going 500 walks during the day had gone, too.

Two months after we lost Pal, my Granda had to go into hospital for his leg. This was common as he'd always had problems with the skin on his legs, but this time he'd fallen too, and was getting checked for that also. Within a few days, my Granda's skin was bright yellow with jaundice, and we received some horrible news. He had cancer, and they expected that he wouldn't last till Christmas. Almost instantly, my Granda went from being the warm, funny man I'd always known, to being quiet, withdrawn and confused. A week passed, and they told us that things didn't look good, and they let my Granda go home to be with family. He was in his bed, screaming in pain every night until he passed away, less than a week after being allowed home. Seeing him like that will haunt me forever.

Christmas was hard. New Year was even harder. New Year is difficult as it is, as that is when you tend to remember everyone you've lost, and my Uncle Jim (who was my Gran and Granda's youngest son) has always been in our thoughts every New Year, as myself and my dad are still struggling with his death. But now, this was combined with us losing my Granda, too. We tried to stay positive, joking in that way that families do after a bereavement. Laughing about how Granda was just desperate to go and walk Pal again, and that at least he was with Jim now.

It kills me that my Granda didn't get to meet Eva before he passed away. It hurts that he didn't even know that he was getting another great-grandchild, because at that point, we didn't even know.

In May, just a week or so after Eva was born, my Gran (who hadn't been the same since my Granda's death, as you'd expect) fell and broke her hip. This caused a chain reaction of events, such as surgery, then infection, more surgery, then more infection, etc. This lasted a couple of months, with my Gran in hospital the whole time. My gran was a feisty character, she was the nurses' worst nightmare. She would shout at the nurses, she would give everyone a piece of her mind. She hated the physio, so would refuse to do it, but of course by not doing it, she was just making her mobility worse.

She already struggled with her memory, but it was getting worse. She shouted at me on one of my visits for being covered in mud and having a black eye, neither of which were true. The doctors said they thought it was a combination of being on so many painkillers, and her infections that were messing with her. Within weeks, she was non-responsive, and taking multiple seizures a day. The nurses took us to one side and let us know that nothing else could be done with her, so all that was left to do was to take her off her glucose drip, and to let her slip away.

So in less than a year, I've lost both my grandparents. They were practically parents to me, due to my parents always working. I'd be dropped off at theirs every morning before school, super early, and then picked up later on at night. I'd stay at theirs overnight every week, firstly on a Thursday, but this changed to a Monday night as I got older. After I got my own house, I went down to visit them every week, taking AJ with me.

Losing them has really messed with me. I try to keep everything fine on the surface, but underneath I've been really struggling. I often find myself just staring into space, just feeling totally numb. I know I'm okay, I know that life goes on, as I've been told. But it's hard. My dad is feeling it worse, and it's painful watching him go through this, even though I'm going through it myself (but obviously, it being your parents is worse). And not only have I lost both of them, but everything at the start of the year didn't help either, what with losing my job, finding out I was pregnant and then losing my house. (Don't get me wrong, Eva is one of the best things to have ever happened to me, but she was certainly a shock! Only knew she existed for 6 weeks before I gave birth to her!)

I have been struggling to find motivation to do things, even things as simple as tidying up the house. I've always been lazy, no doubt about that (haha), but this just feels different. I have good days, where I feel like I get loads done, but those don't happen too often. Today feels like one of them - despite the fact that I've been bawling my eyes out writing this.

I don't really know why I'm writing this to be honest, I just kinda wanted to get it off my chest. Maybe explain to you all a little bit as to why I've been so shit at doing things here lately. I'm going to force myself to do more though, as it definitely helps when I do. The more I do, the more I feel motivated to continue. So I need to keep going in order to not fall back into a slump.

I will try to get all of my backlog of posts up over the course of today, so expect to see a whole load of things as the day goes on. I will put updates on facebook and twitter when each post goes live, so make sure to check there, too.

And sorry for the super depressing post, I just wanted to offload a bit haha.

Update and PATREON.

Hey guys, sorry for slacking on those posts I promised you all a few days ago. Other things have been on my mind (it was the first anniversary of my granda's death this week, sadly) and I've just not been up to sitting getting everything uploaded.

This will however change tomorrow. Our son is off to his gran's tomorrow so we'll be able to get a decent amount done.

I am also going to be opening up a poll in a few days for what you'd like to see us unbox first. Aaaand, we've created a Patreon page. We know it's highly unlikely that we will get many (if any) subscribers, but you never know until you try, eh?

So you can subscribe to our Patreon page here. More will be added to it over the next few days, it's still very basic at the moment.

So check back for loads of cool new stuff tomorrow!

Sorry!

Really sorry about the lack of updates the past little while. It has mainly just been quick posts for the "Entries to the Asylum" as those are quick to do. Life has kept getting in the way of my uploads, unfortunately.

I will be posting a tonne of stuff tomorrow, and will update you all on facebook and twitter when I do so, so make sure to check :)

Entries to the Asylum - Tuesday 13th October 2015.

Forgot to post this yesterday as it wasn't a big thing that was delivered - or a recent purchase - it was:

- Fallout 4 Vault-Tec Preorder Bonus T-shirt.

This was given out as a preorder bonus to everyone in the first 10,000 preorders for the Pip-Boy Edition of Fallout 4 for GAME UK.

It was actually a nice wee surprise that it has been delivered now, rather than alongside the game on release day. As stated in the little letter that accompanied it:

" We hope you'll be sporting this when receiving the game on release..."

Sure will!
Can't wait for Fallout 4!

What games are you looking forward to? Let us know in the comments below!

(Forgotten Post) Entries to the Asylum - Friday 2nd October 2015.

I forgot to actually post about this, even though I mentioned it on the forum. One entry to the Asylum for the 2nd October:

- Fallout Anthology Mini Nuke Edition [PC].

We actually had this preordered as soon as it was announced. Sadly though, our order was cancelled from GAME for unknown reasons. We kinda couldn't afford to get it anyway, so we were a little gutted when 2nd October came and everyone was posting pictures of theirs.

And then...

Our friend Steven showed up. "I come bearing gifts!" he said when I opened the front door. And low and behold, he'd gotten us a copy of it :)

So a huge thanks to Steven for adding this to our collection :)

Did you get this edition? What do you think about it? Would you like to see me unbox it?

Let us know in the comments below!

Entries to the Asylum - Saturday 3rd October 2015.

Three entries to the Asylum yesterday, two of which were subscription boxes, and one being a purchase I made last month:

- September 2015 "Summon" Loot Crate.
- September 2015 Arcade Block.
- Harold and Kumar Ultimate Collector's Edition [Bluray].

I will be posting unboxings and reviews of all of the above shortly. I shot some photos of them in our livingroom a moment ago, but unfortunately the lighting in here is horrific, so the photos are awful. And you can see all of our crap in the background...

So I will re-do them for our unboxings and reviews and get them uploaded either later tonight or tomorrow :)

So stay tuned!

Have you received anything in the mail this weekend? Let us know in the comments below!

(Late Post) Entries to the Asylum - Wednesday 30th September 2015.

On Wednesday, we had one entry to the Asylum, and it was a little treat from Media Molecule :)

- Tearaway Unfolded Atoi Poster.

It's an absolutely gorgeous, colourful poster, and we really can't wait to find somewhere to get it framed and displayed :)

Have you received anything cool lately? Let us know in the comments below!

Thursday, 1 October 2015

Entries to the Asylum - Thursday 1st October 2015.

One entry to the Asylum today:

- Journey Collector's Edition [PS4].

A very long awaited release for us, not in the sense that we've ordered after the release date, no, but because we reaaaally wanted to play Journey when it came out on PS3, but we never, ever got around to it. And then when we found out it was being re-released on PS4, we just never bothered and instead decided to wait :)

It's called the Journey Collector's Edition, but it's not a CE in the sense we traditionally see today. It doesn't come with any physical extras, like plushies, replicas, or even just a steelbook. No, it's a Collector's Edition in sense that it has the two previous games from thatgamecompany with it: FlOw, and Flower,

I've yet to play any of the games (as I'm writing this not long after it dropped through the door), but I really can't wait to have a shot :)

Anything new arrived in any of your collections today? Let us know in the comments below!

In-Depth Collection Shots - Vote for what you want to see!

Hi guys!

First of all, DISCLAIMER: I got so beyond bored writing down everything in each image, and it was taking so long that I was worried this would never be posted before it was way too long, and in severe need of an update. So I am uploading as is, so far, and will continue to update titles under each image over the next few days. If you want to know what anything is, in any of the below images, urgently, then please feel free to comment and ask at the bottom of the post!

And continue...

So I took these photos a little while ago now and even though I know you've already seen most/all of what is within the Asylum at the moment (and there are already things missing from these images as more has arrived since I took them!), but I thought I'd give you all some better quality/close-up photos of everything, in order for you to better judge what we have here, and for you all to decide what things you'd like to see us deal with first.

By deal with, I mean you can decide what you want to see us either:

a) Do a photo unboxing,
b) Do a video unboxing,
c) Do a post review (of the game),
d) Do a video review (of the game),
or e) Do a Let's Play video of the game.

Of course, these aren't the only options, if you can think of anything else you'd like us to do (such as comparisons, etc) then feel free to suggest it!

All listings of what are in each image will be written to describe the image from left to right, as much as can possibly be done. I will be listing the edition name (of course, some editions are on display without their boxes, so if pieces of an edition span more than one image, I will point this out by listing in italics), the item type (be it Bluray, DVD, or if it's a game, I'll put what platform it is for) and lastly, I will note which country the edition is from.

One note regarding country is that some of these editions may be available in more than one country. The countries that I list will be the ones that I have purchased the editions from.

When I get down to doing individual unboxings of these editions, I will put more information on those posts regarding country/ies of release.

Variety of Sega Master System, Atari, Sega Saturn and Dreamcast games, along with some Amiibos, a Sonic the Hedgehog Belt Buckle and of course, the amazing Shenmue Ryo Hazuki Exclusive statue from First 4 Figures.

Variety of PC and Gamecube games in the back, with N64 games in front, some Amiibos on top and my Resident Evil 4 Gamecube Chainsaw controller to the right.

On top of the Resi chainsaw are a couple of 3DS consoles, but those are already noted (due to their boxes) on another image above.

Umm.... yeah. I'm not even gonna bother listing out all of these!
