Broken Sword Guinness World Record!

Just yesterday Revolution Software received confirmation from the Guinness World Records team that Broken Sword now holds the title for "Longest Running Graphic Adventure Protagonist".

Since his 1996 debut, Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars, US lawyer cum adventurer George Stobbart and French journalist Nicole "Nico" Collard have appeared in all four sequels of Revolution’s cult point-and-click series, the most recent of which, being the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse, which was released back in September 2015.

Charles Cecil, Founder and CEO of Revolution had this to say of the news: "We are incredibly honoured to receive this award on behalf of George and Nico. They are friends who have grown up with us through thick and thin: they are embedded in the Revolution history. And we are celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Revolution this year and so the award could not be better timed!"

Stephen Daultrey, Editor of the Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition said “Broken Sword is a series that I first played and loved as a kid so the fact that it’s still going strong today is testament to the brilliant storytelling and characters that it’s revered for. It’s a real honour to recognise the games’ iconic leading protagonists with a Guinness World Records title for their enduring popularity and ability to stand the test of time.”

George and Nico's achievement will also be recognised in the Gamer's Edition 2017 release of the Guinness Book of World Records.

Massive congratulations to everyone  at Revolution!
