Second Sight Brings The Florida Project Back to Life in Glorious 4K
Heartfelt, vibrant, and unforgettable, Sean Baker’s The Florida Project is about to shine brighter than ever. This October, Second Sight Films presents the definitive edition of the modern classic with a stunning 4K restoration - personally approved by Director, Sean Baker - and over 4.5 hours of brand-new bonus content, giving fans an intimate look into the making of one of the most heartfelt and acclaimed films of the last decade. From touching cast reunions to in-depth behind-the-scenes insights, every detail of this release is crafted for both longtime fans and first-time viewers. Housed in beautiful, deluxe packaging with a gorgeous hardback book and eight exclusive art cards, it’s a celebration of cinema at its most human - and an absolute must-have for any collection.
A Modern Masterpiece
Released in 2017 to widespread critical acclaim, The Florida Project tells the story of Moonee, a mischevious six-year-old, and her young mother Halley as they navigate life on the edge of homelessness during a sweltering Florida summer. Set largely in and around the Magic Castle Inn - a budget motel just a stone’s throw from Walt Disney World - the film paints a vibrant, bittersweet portrait of childhood wonder against a backdrop of real-world hardship. Willem Dafoe’s Oscar-nominated performance as motel manager Bobby brings an extra layer of humanity to this already deeply affecting drama.
The Restoration and Release
For this new release, Second Sight has collaborated closely with Baker and his team to deliver a pristine 4K master, presented in Dolby Vision HDR. Available in a dual-format three-disc set (1 UHD and 2 Blu-rays), this release includes the main feature and all bonus content across both formats - ensuring no collector is left behind, regardless of setup.
Packed with Bonus Content
This isn’t just a visual overhaul. Fans can dive into a treasure trove of extras, from two brand-new audio commentaries - including one with Baker, co-writer Chris Bergoch, and cinematographer Alexis Zabé - to hours of fresh interviews with the cast, crew, and production team. Highlights include candid conversations with Willem Dafoe, Bria Vinaite, Brooklynn Kimberly Prince, Valeria Cotto, and Christopher Rivera, plus fascinating behind-the-scenes insights from producers, casting directors, and even the Executive Director of the Community Hope Center.
For the Collectors
This gorgeous Limited Edition comes housed in a rigid slipcase with striking new artwork by Michael Dunbabin. Inside, you’ll find a 160-page hardback book packed with new essays, an on-set photo gallery, and eight collector’s art cards - making this not just a fantastic film to watch, but a stunning piece to proudly display in your collection.
