Limited Run Are Giving Fans What They Want - Scott Pilgrim!

Scott Pilgrim has a special place in my heart. I’m a huge fan of Edgar Wright’s uniquely recognisable directorial style, and the 2010 movie is one of my favourites of his. When Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game was released on Xbox 360 back in August 2010, it was everything I could have hoped for. Sadly it was delisted from the store in 2014, not long before the tenth anniversary of the first graphic novels’ release, so any console we’ve had since has been unable to download it - despite owning the game. We’ve still got that 360 in storage, but without knowing exactly where it is in the mountains of storage boxes that badly need sorted, the carnage of pulling everything apart made it seem like it just wouldn’t be worth the level of effort required to dig it out.

So we forever held out hope of it one day getting a re-release. The movie’s tenth anniversary last year came and went, and no news. But shortly after, in September 2020, Ubisoft confirmed that our dreams were coming true! They announced a Q4 2020 release window for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game, but in early December, creator Bryan Lee O’Malley confirmed a delay, stating that the game would now be released on January 14th - which it did!

Limited Run Games announced a physical release, which is currently available for a 6-week preorder window (something many fans will be glad of, due to Limited Run’s releases commonly selling out within mere minutes of going live). I am in love with each one of these Editions, and hope to be able to get my hands on the K.O. Edition before the window ends.

There’s three Editions available, on both Switch and PS4 - although Limited Run have stated on Twitter that this will also be receiving a physical Xbox release further down the line. I’ve yet to see if this extends to the various Editions, so I’m currently slithering over going for it on Switch, or waiting for the Xbox version of the K.O. Edition to be available. There’s the base physical copy, the Classic Edition and the K.O. Edition - with contents shown below.

Priced at $139.99 plus shipping, the Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game K.O. Edition includes:

There’s even a limited-time bundle available (shown above), including a butt-load of other Scott Pilgrim merch, that if money was no object right now, I would totally be up for. Sadly, the preorder window for this option closes tomorrow, January 17th - so I will just have to stare longingly at other content-creators unboxing this.

I’m really impressed with the contents of each Edition, as well as the great pricing for each - I genuinely expected a higher price point, particularly for the K.O. Edition, so I’m really happy it’s one I’m likely to be able to afford before the ability to preorder ends. I really can’t wait for this release, and hope that the delivery time won’t be too long after the preorder window closes, but I know that typically these take a while… so this will definitely be me come February 28th:
